The National September 11 Memorial Museum is the country’s principal institution concerned with exploring the implications of the events of 9/11. A visit to the museum is an emotional and moving event. Join Mark Dunn, president MODA/United Notions, and view the exhibitions that include the construction ramps used to build the original World Trade Center, the “survivor stairs” where hundreds of people escaped with their lives, In Memorium where victims of the attacks are honored and the 60-feet long “Victim’s Quilt”, composed of nine themed quilts contributed to by hundreds of people from across the country.

The Brooklyn Museum of Art is the second largest art museum in the United States and contains more than 1.5 million objects ranging from ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary painting and sculpture. It is home to the must see The Dinner Party, “a massive ceremonial banquet in art” which celebrates female achievement in Western history. We’ll have a museum guide with us for an hour and then explore the museum on our own.

We’ll meet at a subway stop in lower Manhattan and travel together via subway to Brooklyn. Detailed directions will be provided. After the tour, enjoy nearby Prospect Park or try one of the many international restaurants in the neighborhood.
